Caring For Your Lips After Having Lip Filler Injections
A lip filler procedure is a gentle way to get the look you want, with maximum results and minimal pain. However, it is very important to care for your lips correctly after your procedure, so that you do not experience any problems and your lips continue to look fantastic for as long as possible. You should:
- Apply Arnica cream immediately after your treatment, and reapply when you go to bed that evening. This will help to reduce bruising and encourage healing.
- Wrap ice in a towel and hold this onto the lips for twenty minutes, followed by a break of twenty minutes. You should repeat this for 1-2 hours in the evening on the day of your procedure.
- Avoid exercise classes and intense heat following your treatment.
- Ensure that you do not lie down for a couple of hours after the treatment.
- Massage the lips as directed. Lumps may form in the lips if the filler hardens, and you will be shown how to massage these out gently to ensure a natural and smooth look.
Please note that you must be aged 18 or over for a lip filler treatment. Bruising may occur, and lip size will come down when initial swelling subsides.
